Scorpiones are an arthropod order belonging to the Arachnida (spiders) class. They are animals related to spiders, generally living in hot and humid areas, their bodies are covered with a hard chitin layer, and their curved and upturned tail has a venom sting.
There are 16 families, 5 genera and 6 species belonging to the Scorpiones order. There are 23 species collected in 11 genera in Turkey. The first longest scorpion in the world is heterometrus swammerdami with a length of 23 cm, and the second is Pandinus Imperator with a length of 20 cm. Although some scorpions kept in terrariums live up to 8 years, their lifespan in nature is shorter than this.
